Staff Profile

My name is Joe Larsen, and this is my 17th year teaching. I joined St. Paul Public Schools in 2014 and have been at E-STEM since the school opened in 2019. I am an EL teacher that specializes in supporting students in science and helping them access science and STEM content, which is one of my favorite parts of teaching.

I also work with the LEGO Robotics program, where I enjoy seeing students build, code, and problem-solve in creative and exciting ways. Watching students collaborate, take on challenges, and grow as a team is something I really look forward to every year.

Outside of school, I enjoy camping, canoeing, running, skiing, and curling, as well as participating in and cheering on my kids, Greg (10) and Adeline (7), in their daily activities. I feel very fortunate to be part of the E-STEM community and truly appreciate the strong sense of belonging and positive culture that makes our school such a special place.
